Battery Back-Up
Why Battery Back-Up Makes Sense
Relying on the grid for your home’s power can be disappointing and difficult when there’s an outage. With a battery back-up, like the Solaredge, Storz, Tesla, you’ll be able to rest easy knowing that your home will have power until the outage is over. You’ll also get additional savings by combining solar Net Metering 2.0 with a battery back-up.
If you have a solar system and have already reduced your reliance on the power grid, a battery back-up will keep your solar working when the utility grid is down. In addition, you’ll enjoy up to 13.5kWh of energy storage to keep your lights, appliances, and outlets working with a partial or whole-home back-up solution.
Supplying Your Battery Storage Solution: The Tesla Powerwall 2
At SolReliable, we want to ensure you only get the best. That’s why we’ve selected the Tesla Powerwall 2 as our exclusive battery back-up solution for our customers.
As one of the most advanced technology companies in the world, Tesla has spearheaded the industry with advanced electric vehicles, space travel, and newly announced roofing that doubles as a solar system. They have also upgraded their existing home battery back-up solution, with a new version: the Powerwall 2. This unit can be easily installed indoors or outdoors and offers a higher power output.
Benefits of this leading home battery storage solution include:
The Ability to Always be Connected
Not only does the Powerwall 2 come with an easy to use interface, so that you can monitor your battery’s status, but it also keeps your power on.
With the Telsa Backup Gateway, if there’s a grid power outage, your back-up will kick on after only ¼ of a second. This is much quicker than other back-up battery solutions and won’t disturb your home’s appliances, giving you less to worry about.
Flexibility & Increased Savings
Tesla’s Powerwall 2 stores up to 13.5 kWh of energy, providing 5kW of continuous power. Up to 10 of these units can be combined to suit your home’s energy needs.
If you have a solar system, you may be able to store enough energy to power your home without ever relying on the grid. Rather than sending your solar power into the grid to be retrieved back at night, you’ll be able to store it and save on net metering fees.
Durability
The Powerwall 2 is water-resistant and dustproof. It can easily be installed outside or inside, either on a wall or the floor.
Safety
Since it doesn’t have any exposed wires or hot vents, the Powerwall 2 is safe for installation even in high-traffic areas of your home. Meaning that you won’t have to worry if your kids or pets get near it.
All-In-One
Unlike some other battery back-ups, the Powerwall 2 has an internal inverter that converts DC energy to AC energy, lowering costs and reducing the need for additional accessories. It can also be installed with all existing home solar systems and inverters.
Longevity with a 10-Year Warranty
Built to last, the Powerwall 2 from Tesla also comes with a 10-year warranty so you can be confident in your investment to take your home’s energy into your own hands.
Financing Options & Rebates
The U.S. government has spoken: if you're using your battery back-up with a new or existing solar system, you can qualify for the 30% federal tax credit. For a limited time, you’ll also be eligible for Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP) rebates. When you install a battery back-up you might qualify for up to $0.50 per watt, potentially $3,500 to $5,000 back, depending on whether you’re eligible for tax credits and the funds still available through SGIP.
We are premier contractors for CaliforniaFIRST and also work with HERO, Matador, YGrene, GreenSky, and more. With all of these incentives and programs, adding battery storage to your solar system is one of the smartest investments you can make. Additionally, there are now many attractive rebates available to help homeowners install battery back-ups.
